Tottenham are edging ever closer to completing the signing of Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius, with a medical set to take place to get the deal over the line.
That is according to a report from Sky Sports last night, who claim Spurs have agreed to take Vinicius on loan with a view to buying him for over £30m if all goes to plan.
Jose Mourinho has been desperate to bring in a new striker and it looks like he might finally have got his man. With Harry Kane more or less required to play every game, it has been a number on priority for Spurs to get a genuine support-act over the line.
Vinicius would appear to be that man for Spurs, after scoring 18 league goals last season for Benfica and providing eight assists.
The player is set to undergo a medical today and Sky claim he is in London ready to complete the deal.

Spurs’ problem has always been finding someone who is willing to come in and play second fiddle to Harry Kane but they appear to have finally got their man in Vinicius.
Powerful, quick, and with a keen eye for goal, he should slot in nicely and improve further under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
Daniel Levy has backed his manager now this season immensely and will expect results. For Spurs fans, they’ll hope this is the start of real progression under Mourinho now he has his squad assembled.
