Tottenham Hotspur are preparing an offer for Adama Traore, according to reports from AS in Spain.
Bid incoming
They say that Tottenham are set to meet Wolves £35 million asking price for the rapid winger, as they look to complete a deadline day deal.
Indeed, the report suggests that Wolves are already looking at replacements for Traore, with Valencia’s Goncalo Guedes top of their list.
What On Earth Is Going On At Benfica?!
Before Spurs fans get too excited about the potential signing though, it should be worth noting that the Spanish update rather contradicts English sources.
The Athletic have just reported that Tottenham will have to pay £50 million to land Traore today, such is Wolves’ desire to keep him.
It will now be very interesting to see how the transfer develops over the coming hours.
Spurs’ interest in Traore is no secret, but he has played a hugely important role for new Wolves boss Bruno Lage so far.

Lage has seemingly wanted Traore to make his runs more centrally, which has caused defences problems when they have played Wolves.
The tactical tweak is yet to see Wolves score though, due to a lack of firepower.
Clinical partners
At Tottenham, Traore wouldn’t have so many issues if he was able to create for his teammates.
Spurs have two of the most devastating finishers in the Premier League with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
And with Traore, who Nuno has previously called ‘special’ (Express and Star), creating space for them, Spurs’ attack could become an even bigger threat if their apparently impending bid is a success.
