Turkish outlet Haberler have claimed that Fenerbahce are ready to sign Mesut Ozil on loan this summer and have made an offer that would see the SuperLig side pay a considerable amount of the playmaker’s wages.

Ozil, 31, has failed to make single appearance for Arsenal since the restart and it is becoming more and more clear that the Gunners ace will leave the north London club either this summer – or next.

He has entered the final 12 months of his contract and Arsenal will be desperate to get rid, given he earns a whopping £350,000 a week (Mail). Now, they have the chance to at least loan him out and save some of his wages.

That is because Fenerbahce are ready to sign Ozil on loan this summer and pay £57,000 of his £350,000-a-week salary. At the end of a season-long loan, his Arsenal contract will have expired. It will save the Gunners £3million.

TBR’s view – The best Arsenal are going to get?

Arsenal are unlikely to get a better deal than shaving Ozil’s wages by more than £50,000 a week. No team is going to be able to sign Ozil permanently, making it clear he wants to remain at Arsenal until his deal expires.

So, going on loan is Arsenal’s only option. Saving as much as £3million on wages is good business for the Gunners, and if Fener are ready to sanction a move – then a deal should be orchestrated.
