Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic’s move to Qatar is in danger of collapse, according to reports.

It has been reported this week that the Australian could be on his way to the Middle East in a £4 million move to continue his career.

It seemed he would be paid for by the Qatari Stars League and then assigned to a club as a marquee player to help elevate the profile and quality of the league.

However, according to The Scottish Sun, the Celtic man is having second thoughts and the deal is therefore at risk of falling apart.

The report claims that the 27-year-old did not fly to Qatar this week as expected as he is now having second thoughts of playing in a lower-profile league.

Rogic is said to still have a place in Neil Lennon’s plans at Celtic. However, the recent arrival of David Turnbull from Motherwell will only push the Australian further down the pecking order at Parkhead.

Rogic, who is currently injured, has struggled to play on a consistent basis for Celtic in recent times, with the likes of Ryan Christie, Olivier Ntcham, and Callum McGregor getting ahead of him in Lennon’s plans.

Celtic would undoubtedly welcome the £4 million they would receive for Rogic, as it could help strengthen in other areas of the pitch.

However, Rogic is clearly worried that moving to Qatar at this stage of his career could be an error.

Time will tell if the deal goes through and, if not, whether Celtic find another destination for the playmaker or include him in the plans for their 10 in a row attempt.
