The Times claim one of three Rangers icons could join Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the dugout – in Billy Dodds, Barry Ferguson or Neil McCann.
Van Bronckhorst, 46, spoke to Rangers over the weekend. Indeed, he is one of three managers that Rangers are said to have held talks with.
Sky Sports state that while no wages were discussed, van Bronckhorst’s vision for the Gers aligned with the values and ideas of the current board.
An announcement regarding a new manager is expected this week, before Rangers play host to Hibernian on Sunday afternoon at Ibrox, at 4pm.
A report from The Times claims that van Bronckhorst could be appointed manager – and a Rangers icon could join him in the dugout.
The Times name McCann, Ferguson and Dodds as potential names. Ferguson currently manages Alloa, while Dodds is in charge at Inverness.

Ferguson, Dodds and McCann: Van Bronckhorst needs a Rangers head
While van Bronckhorst knows what it means to be Rangers, he has been out of Scottish football for more than 20 years – leaving the Gers in 2001.
He needs someone on his coaching staff, not only a Rangers head – which Dodds, McCann and Ferguson are – but one that knows Scottish football.
Two currently manage in Scotland and the other, McCann, works as a pundit in Scotland – also managing Dundee and Inverness since 2018.
Having one of those alongside van Bronckhorst will help give the Dutchman the knowledge he needs to be Rangers manager.
