French website Foot Mercato have claimed that three new clubs have entered the race to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, on the same day the Gers decided to spend big on Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten.
With Jermain Defoe sidelined through a hamstring injury, Steven Gerrard has chosen to bring two new strikers in and both were confirmed on the same day. Roofe was announced first, joining from Belgian side Anderlecht.
Itten, meanwhile, is already a Switzerland international and has completed a move from St. Gallen. Roofe is known to be able to play out wide or in the 10 role, but Itten is much more of a powerful centre-forward.
The signings of both players has suggests Gerrard has brought in replacements for Morelos. Now, Brighton, Sassuolo and Sevilla have all been touted as potential suitors – while Lille remain interested to replace Victor Osimhen.

TBR’s view – Which team suits Morelos most?
Lille would be an excellent move. Champions League last term, they need to replace Osimhen who has moved to Napoli. But Lille also want Jonathan David from Gent, and that may scupper a move for Morelos.
Brighton would also be a solid move. Under Graham Potter, the Seagulls have impressed – but Neal Maupay is likely to be preferred. Sevilla would be ideal for Morelos, with the Spanish game potentially suiting the Colombian.
