Three Italian clubs could reportedly test the waters next month over Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth.

The centre-half has seen very little game time since Jose Mourinho succeeded Mauricio Pochettino, with the Argentina international having made just one start under the Portuguese against Bayern Munich.

Many Tottenham fans felt they would have seen more of Foyth by this point, especially with Kieran Trippier having left in the summer.

Foyth has the capacity to operate at right-back, and Serge Aurier has not always convinced in the position.

Spurs have struggled in central defence too, making it all the more strange why Foyth hasn’t featured more often.

Despite his lack of opportunities under Mourinho, the manager recently ruled out a January move for the player (Sky Sports).

According to Calciomercato though, Inter Milan, AC Milan and AS Roma could see the 21-year-old as a ‘market opportunity’, despite Mourinho’s stance.

TBR’s view – Spurs fans shouldn’t worry

Spurs fans surely won’t need to fear £8 million signing Foyth (BBC Sport) leaving next month following Mourinho’s comments.

The Special One was fairly emphatic when he spoke about the South American star, and with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld leaving, there is likely going to be opportunities to prove himself as an able successor for one or both of those players.
