According to the Daily Mail, there’s a ‘strong feeling’ in Italy that Antonio Conte wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and join Juventus.

The Italian has well and truly transformed Spurs since he took charge of the club in November last year. He helped them return to the Champions League, and many view him as the man who will bring trophies back to Tottenham again.

However, after the defeat to Manchester United this week, it has been claimed that he wants to leave.

The report claims that whenever Conte postpones contract talks with a club, it’s because he wants to leave. It has been claimed that he did it at both Juventus and Inter Milan before walking out, and he’s now doing the same at Tottenham.

Conte’s current contract expires at the end of this season. The report claims that next summer is viewed as an ‘opportune time to move elsewhere’, and he would ‘prefer’ a return to Juventus.

The report further claims that the defeat against Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United this week ‘bothered Conte a lot’.

That is one of the reasons why there’s a ‘strong feeling in Italy’ that he wants to leave Spurs and go back to Juventus to replace Massimiliano Allegri, who has come under immense criticism in Turin this season.

It has also been claimed that Juventus would welcome him back with open arms, with the club considering him as a ‘cure for the disease afflicting the club this season.’

Tottenham are currently third in the Premier League table after 11 games, four points behind league leaders Arsenal, who have played a game less.

If Conte really wants to leave Tottenham at the end of this season, Spurs fans should be worried.

The Italian is one of the best managers in world football. His style of play may be boring, but he gets results, and he’s Spurs’ best chance of ending their trophy drought.

Daniel Levy simply has to find a way to convince Conte to extend his stay at the club. Under him, Spurs could go on to achieve something really special in the next two years, but if he leaves, they’ll have to take a couple of steps backwards.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Conte in the coming months, but it really won’t surprise us if he leaves Spurs and returns to Juventus, where chances of success are a lot higher than it is in North London.
