Report: The two words Tottenham insiders are using to describe Antonio Conte in training before NLD

Antonio Conte has been especially animated in Tottenham training ahead of tonight’s huge London derby clash.

The Independent report that is how Spurs insiders have been describing their manager ahead of a game which will have such a big impact on the club’s season.

Victory for Arsenal would seal a Champions League spot for next season, while a Spurs win would pile the pressure back onto their north London rivals.

Conte has reinvigorated the club and he will be hoping to get the better of Mikel Arteta on a massively important night.

Conte animated in Tottenham training

Their report reads: “In the build-up to Thursday, Antonio Conte has been “super animated”, seeking to ensure his players are ready to rampage into this one. He has used a few little techniques for motivation, and the suspension of this game in January has been mentioned, as has the home support.

This is what Conte is best at. Tottenham’s performance in big games has been the most positive aspect of his brief time in charge so far, and is one major reason he has them in contention for the top four. Champions League qualification could decide the future of Harry Kane, and maybe even Conte himself.

There has actually been a shift as regards the Italian, and it is now seen as likelier that he stays at Spurs next season. Kane has certainly been captivated by the manager in a way like none since Pochettino. Conte has rescued this season, and resuscitated the club as a top-six force. Spurs, in short, are a team to be taken seriously again.

For all that Conte has roused Spurs for the big games, they also suit Arsenal because it means more space to run into. Conte is far too calculated to grant them that, however, and Spurs are certain to set up like a “coiled spring”: very tight, and withdrawn, but ready to burst.”

Everyone at Spurs has to be up for this one. Conte will set the tone and hope that Harry Kane and Heung-min Son can do the business at the sharp end of the pitch.

The defensive performance at Anfield was hugely impressive and it was Spurs who looked the more likely to win that game, in truth.

Conte needs to get everything right on arguably the biggest night at the new stadium and one which will have a huge bearing on this season and next.
