Report: Tanguy Ndombele could still leave Spurs this summer

Spurs midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, is considering an exit from the club this summer and will assess his situation at the end of August, according to The Athletic.

Ndombele missed out yesterday as Spurs had too much for Arsenal, winning out 1-0 in their final pre-season friendly before the big kick-off this weekend against Manchester City.

Despite claims that Ndombele was injured, The Athletic have stated that the Frenchman was fit and available. Nuno Santo simply opted not to select the £55m signing, prompting further questions over his future.

And now The Athletic have suggested that while Spurs are still hoping to see Ndombele be a success, the player himself is considering a move away and will look at his options in the next few weeks.

The French star earns around £200k-a-week at Spurs and is one of the very top earners, alongside Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

Time is of the essence

While it’s understandable that Spurs want things to work out when it comes to Ndombele, there also has to be a decision soon. Santo needs to decide if he’s going to use him, or whether the club could cash in.

There won’t be too many takers, mind. Especially not on the money he is earning at Spurs. But there’s always someone willing to take a punt, and Fabio Paratici might be tempted to push for a sale.

Realistically, a decision needs to be made soon. Spurs can’t wait for Ndombele to dictate things and leave them in the lurch. If he is going to go, then the club needs to act now and get on with sorting the move.
