Arsenal have received a big boost in their pursuit of their top striker target with Calciomercato reporting that Tammy Abraham would like to join the Gunners over Roma this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s men are one of the sides in the running for the Chelsea star. With Romelu Lukaku set to join the Blues, they are prepared to sell Abraham, who is valued at around £40 million (via Daily Mail).

It was reported by Gianluca Di Marzio that Arsenal had made the 23-year-old their top target up front.

However, Jose Mourinho is hoping to throw a spanner in the works.

According to Calciomercato, Abraham sits in the same spot on Roma’s wishlist. And the Giallorossi are in talks with Chelsea about a potential deal.

The Serie A side would like to take Abraham on an initial loan.

But crucially, the England international would like to join Arsenal instead of Roma.

Will Arsenal capitalise with Abraham keen on Emirates move?

Arsenal have cleared one hurdle. Abraham is reportedly keen to join them over Roma.

However, it will not be plain-sailing for the Gunners if they decide to make their move.

Arsenal have several strikers on their books. Surely, at least one will have to leave before Chelsea receive an offer.

They will also need to part with a large sum. Even if Chelsea will compromise, Abraham looks set to cost a lot this summer.

Whether Arsenal step up remains to be seen.

Abraham is seemingly hoping they will.
