The Chronicle have claimed that League One side Sunderland are interested in luring Leeds United left-back Tom Pearce to the Stadium of Light – despite the player reportedly having a medical elsewhere.
Pearce, 21, is currently out of favour at Leeds this summer with the Whites boasting plenty of options on the left side of defence. Indeed, Gjanni Alioski, Barry Douglas and Leif Davis are all options on the left side of the defence.
The defender broke into the Leeds side under Paul Heckingbottom but only managed a handful of appearances before falling down the pecking order. A poor loan spell at Scunthorpe United last season came next.

Leeds Live claimed on Wednesday that England youth international that Pearce was to sign a three-year deal at Championship side Barnsley. Wigan Today then claimed he was having a medical at Wigan.
Now, the Chronicle reckon Pearce – who has even found the back of the net on one occasion for Leeds – is interesting League One promotion hopefuls Sunderland, after Bryan Oviedo left to join FC Copenhagen.
It remains to be seen where the Leeds United star will finally end up, with nothing yet to be confirmed. Sunderland will be hoping they can convince Pearce to drop a league, with the size of the club surely tempting for Pearce.
