Everton’s bid to sign Argentine talent Santiago Sosa has seemingly hit a snag. As reported by La Pagina Millionaria, the River Plate star is all set to join Everton this summer. However, there are certain stumbling blocks over his passport issue.
A work permit is unlikely for the player but he is said to have European heritage and is therefore eligible for an EU passport. However, LPM is reporting the process is taking a long time which is holding up the deal. They even question whether the Sosa deal will get done before the end of the transfer window.
As reported by Ole last week, Everton have agreed a £13 million fee with the Argentine giants to sign the Under-20 World Cup star.
Everton will certainly hope they can get a deal over the line for the talented young midfielder.
Sosa has impressed this season and Everton director of football Marcel Brands has a fine record when it comes to recruiting from South America. With that in mind, the club are willing to take a risk on the 20-year-old.
Sosa has the ability to become a top European talent and beating several other clubs to his signature could give Everton a future star.
