Report suggests Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho thinks transfer target Max Aarons is too short

Tottenham Hotspur have regularly been linked with a potential move to sign Norwich City right-back Max Aarons this summer as a possible solution to their current problem position.

Serge Aurier is the only recognised right-back at the club and, despite recent improvements, remains a very erratic performer.

Kieran Trippier was sold last summer whilst Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters appear out of Jose Mourinho’s thinking.

Aarons, who failed a trial period at Tottenham as a teenager, has previously been labeled with a huge £30 million (Daily Mail) price-tag by Norwich.

Despite that fact, Tottenham have continued to be linked with a move for the player.

However, it now appears that Jose Mourinho has big doubts over a move for the player.

According to the Sunday Times, the Portuguese is unsure if Aarons is what Tottenham need at right-back considering his lack of height and lack of experience.

At 5ft 10ins, Aarons is perhaps your average height for a full-back but Mourinho prefers a more imposing player in the role which could see Tottenham decide to look elsewhere when it comes to right-back recruits.

Tottenham are right not to be interested in Aarons for the previously mentioned £30 million fee but at the right price he would surely be an adept signing for the club, regardless of his height.

Mourinho, it seems, is not convinced and it could be this long-suggested Tottenham transfer has lost its legs.
