Fikayo Tomori rejected the chance to join West Ham United on loan on Monday after David Moyes failed to provide any assurances over his position, according to a report from The Telegraph, while he also felt he was not left with enough time to fully consider a switch to the London Stadium.
Tomori was linked with a temporary move from Chelsea for much of the summer. The 22-year-old has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League this term.

But as Monday’s initial deadline loomed, The Telegraph reports that West Ham were the only side putting an offer on the table for the centre-back.
Of course, the deadline has now passed and Tomori remains with the Blues. And it appears that it was the player’s decision to ultimately stay put.

According to The Telegraph, Moyes made no guarantees over his game-time. And it also appeared that the youngster felt rushed as he also wanted more time to think about joining the Hammers.
TBR View: Moyes may be proved right
Tomori – who earns around £14,400-a-week, according to Spotrac – looks to be a fantastic talent. However, you could understand why Moyes may have been reluctant to provide assurances.
The defender barely featured for Chelsea after the turn of the year last season. That would suggest that he is not the finished article just yet.
And providing guarantees could have been a big risk for West Ham. Of course, they would have loved to sign a new centre-back. But there are still other options available until Friday – albeit, they can now only sign players from the EFL.
West Ham have also kept clean sheets in their last two league games. And keeping Tomori beyond his loan would have surely been incredibly unlikely.
So perhaps, all sides may ultimately benefit from the deal not going through.
