Rangers are considering a move for Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe this summer if they lose Alfredo Morelos.
The Scottish Sun is reporting that Steven Gerrard has told Ibrox director of football Mark Allen to identify potential replacements for the Colombian. Roofe is reportedly ‘top of the list’ and a £5 million fee has been mentioned for his services.
The report states that Morelos is edging toward a Rangers exit, with the Glasgow club hoping to receive £10 million for their star striker.
Whilst that would be a big blow, bringing in Roofe at just £5 million would certainly soften the blow.

The Leeds United forward has just 12 months left on his current deal which would help the Ibrox club in any pursuit of his signature. However, Rangers are only able to pursue the deal financially should Morelos leave.
TBR’s View
Rangers fans would undoubtedly be very disappointed to see Morelos leave the club this summer.
But financially, they must ensure they sell the Colombian when his value is at its peak or risk missing out on millions.
If Morelos was to leave, Roofe would be a like-for-like replacement and at £5 million would be a bargain. The 26-year-old scored 15 goals in 34 games last season in the Championship. Those figures would have been more impressive were it not for an untimely injury absence.
Considering the recent values of Championship goal-scorers, £5 million is a pittance. But before anything happens, Morelos needs to be on his way.
