Bordeaux reportedly failed in a bid to sign Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin this month, according to reports.
RMC Sport is suggesting that the French side made an approach to sign the Everton midfielder in recent days. The report claims that the player himself has no intention of leaving Everton at present. It stated the 29-year-old ‘wants to stay in England to give himself a chance to impose himself at Everton.’
Bordeaux have now turned their attention to Roma’s misfit midfielder Maxime Gonalons. He himself was linked with Everton this summer however, the L’Equipe report ended up going nowhere.
At one point in time, it seemed Everton would have happily said goodbye to Schneiderlin. After an impressive start at the club, the Frenchman soon found himself struggling and was public enemy number one amongst Everton fans.
However, he has slowly rebuilt some of his reputation at Everton and started the opening game of the season against Crystal Palace.
Annoyingly, he was sent off in that fixture, but it is still hard to envisage Everton selling him before the end of the month.
The departures of Idrissa Gana Gueye and James McCarthy mean Schneiderlin is likely to be sticking around, even if he was keen on a move to Bordeaux.
