Tottenham Hotspur are still in the hunt for Olivier Giroud, despite him extending his deal at Chelsea recently.

Football.London reported earlier in the week that Tottenham could be interested in making an enquiry for the French World Cup winner. The Express then stated that Tottenham remain actively interested in a move for the striker, with a £9 million price-tag placed on his head.

The Express has also shared one detail regarding Giroud’s thinking which might give Tottenham an advantage if Chelsea decide to cash in this summer.

They suggest that interest from abroad, such as from Lazio and Lyon, could fall on deaf ears. Giroud is settled in London but would potentially decide to move on if he had no chance of first-team football next season, with Chelsea set to sign Timo Werner.

Of course, Tottenham could offer Giroud the luxury of both.

Giroud would likely be used in rotation with Harry Kane and as his main alternative when the England captain is injured or in need of a rest.

At Spurs, Giroud would work with a manager who respects him in Jose Mourinho, play more regularly then as third-choice striker at Chelsea and get to stay in London.

A win, win, win situation for the Premier League stalwart.
