The race to sign Ryan Kent this summer is certainly heating up, but it seems Leeds United’s previous interest is set to come to nothing.
Leeds United had the Liverpool talent on a list of targets for the summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The other names on that list, Ben White, Jack Harrison, and Helder Costa, have already or are likely to become Leeds players this summer.
But the Bristol Post is suggesting that Leeds have made ‘little progress’ in a deal for Kent.

With both Harrison and Costa seemingly sewed up, Leeds’ need for Kent is minimal. That is especially true after agreeing to take Jack Clarke back from Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the season.
It seems this could be news for one former Leeds United player.
As reported by the Northern Echo, Middlesbrough are hoping to sign the former Rangers loanee this summer.
Boro’s new boss is Jonathan Woodgate. The 39-year-old spent seven years at Leeds before heading to Newcastle United in 2003. He is said to want a younger team at The Riverside and sees the £12 million-rated Kent as a potentially important addition.
Leeds, it seems, no longer need Kent in their ranks. But they will no doubt hope he does not end up spearheading a promotion rivals attack this season.
