Besiktas are still hopeful of luring Leeds United into a deal to sign Cyle Larin, according to reports in Turkey.
Haberler are reporting that his current loan club Zulte-Waregem have had to shelve plans to activate their buying clause for the Canadian before selling him on due to their own financial issues.
That fee was said to be in the region of €2.4 million (£2m). Besiktas are now hopeful of exploiting Leeds United’s interest in the player to get a higher fee, hopefully in the region of €6 million (£5.2m).
It would represent quite the decrease in asking price. A report from Voetbal24 recently suggested that Zulte would want €12 million (£10.4m) for the player. Besiktas are seemingly ready to settle for half that.

Leeds United’s director of football Victor Orta appears to be a big fan of the striker, who is currently on loan at Belgian side Zulte Waregem from Besiktas.
The Sun on Sunday (as relayed by the Daily Star) reported Leeds United interest back in September 2017, as Leeds looked for Chris Wood replacements. Middlesbrough were also linked, as reported by Gazette Live, whilst Orta was still in charge of recruitment on Teesside.
This season, the 24-year-old has been in fine form, scoring nine goals and assisting 11 in 33 games for the Belgian side.
But any move from Leeds, at any price, is likely to depend on the West Yorkshire side’s status next season. Leeds are hopeful of winning promotion to the Premier League but the global health crisis has put that issue on the backburner for the time being.
However, it seems that Orta might have a chance of signing one of his long-term targets at an increasingly reduced price in the next transfer window.
