It is probably not a transfer that Leeds United fans know even happened but the club signed a young talented goalkeeper in the summer. We are not talking about on-loan Frenchman Ilan Meslier either. Instead, it is Australian youngster Cooper Skerry who Leeds snapped up.
He joined Leeds on a two-year scholarship deal in the summer from Brisban City in his home country.
It was a deal that did not receive massive coverage, but the 17-year-old is considered a top talent in his homeland and Leeds did well to snap him up.
In fact, as reported by the World Game, they beat Manchester United to his signature.

The report claims that Leeds had to work hard to get the paperwork through to sign such a young player from a foreign country.
Their old rivals at Old Trafford, along with Championship rivals Swansea City, ‘shied away’ from doing so leaving Leeds with the chance to snap up the imposing teenager.
Whilst it is a long way to go before Leeds fans can get to see Skerry in the first-team at Elland Road, it is still nice to hear that they beat the Red Devils to his signature. Especially considering the fact one-time target Daniel James is now a star at Old Trafford.
Leeds fans will hope they get to rub this fact in the face of their Lancashire foes in the years to come.
