Report suggests Kieran Tierney’s transfer to Arsenal is now ‘inevitable’

Arsenal are said to have made a Scottish transfer record-breaking move for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney. According to the Scottish Sun, the Gunners have finally met the £25 million valuation that Celtic placed on their prized asset.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Tierney throughout the summer and it now seems they might finally be getting hold of their man.

Perhaps the most telling part of The Sun’s story is a source at Parkhead describing Tierney’s move to Arsenal as ‘inevitable’.

Celtic fans will, of course, be devastated to see Tierney leave the club. The 22-year-old has been a significant player at Parkhead for a number of years and fans were hoping he might go on to be a one-club man.

However, it appears that the chance to play in English football is going to prove too much for the player. Tierney is clearly capable of playing at a higher level and Celtic fans have long-feared this day might come.

Some might also feel, that in the current market, £25 million is not enough for the Scot. Hopefully, Celtic will also include a sell-on clause in any deal as Tierney certainly has the potential to push on and be worth much more down the line.
