Arsenal will have to offer at least £36 million if they hope to sign Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler this summer, but the Daily Mail has suggested that that may present a potential problem for the Gunners.

Soler is attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer. The 23-year-old has scored three goals in all competitions for Los Che this term. Football Espana reported in December that his contract includes a £127 million release clause.

The Daily Mail reports that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United have been tracking the youngster. And they have been joined in the running by the Gunners.

The Mail notes that the current uncertainty within football may force Valencia to sell some of their biggest assets, and thus, that may open the door for Soler to leave.

But they are not prepared to let him go on the cheap. The Mail reports that Valencia would want at least £36 million.

The report notes that that could take Arsenal out of the race. It is suggested that Mikel Arteta’s men may be priced out of a move as they are also looking at signing Dani Ceballos permanently from Real Madrid.

TBR View – Ceballos deal should be priority for Arsenal

Soler would be an incredibly exciting signing for the Gunners if he moved to the Emirates. He is a class act capable of roaming throughout the midfielder and featuring in a number of roles.

However, Ceballos’s form just before the season’s stoppage was superb. And if Madrid are open to doing a deal, Arsenal’s priority should arguably be to get Ceballos signed permanently.

He has now proven that he can be a revelation in the Premier League. So there is less risk attached to a potential move.

If Soler comes in instead, there is perhaps a danger that he could take a similar period of time to Ceballos to adapt – if not longer.
