It appears that tomorrow’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur could be the last for Idrissa Gana Gueye in an Everton shirt. That is, at least, according to the Daily Mail. They report that the Senegalese international’s appearance is likely to be a final one for the Toffees.
The report suggests that both Manchester United and PSG are ready to battle for his £40 million signature in the summer and that Everton are resigned to letting the 29-year-old go.
Of course, Everton fought off interest from Paris in the winter but it now seems as though that was more of a temporary reprieve.

It will be a big loss to Everton to see one of their star players leave the club. However, it must also be viewed as an incredible piece of business.
As reported by The Guardian, Everton paid just £7.1 million to sign Gueye from the then recently relegated Aston Villa. It was the former head of recruitment Steve Walsh who brought him in, with the hope he could be Everton’s answer to N’Golo Kante.
To sell him on three seasons down the road for an increased fee in the region of £33 million is excellent work. When considering that Gueye also turns 30 in September, Everton are going to struggle to refuse this deal.
He will be a tough act to follow and replace. However, from a business perspective, Everton will have done very well out of Gueye.
