Lucas Vazquez is said to have identified Everton as his preferred move, with Spanish outlet El Gol Digital reporting that he would relish the chance to link up with the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and James Rodriguez.

Vazquez looks set to attract a lot of offers this summer. As noted in the report, he is set to be a free agent at the end of the campaign.

He has contributed seven assists across La Liga and the Champions League this term.

According to El Gol Digital, AC Milan, Real Betis and Leeds United all want the 29-year-old, but it appears that they may be set for disappointment.

The report claims that Vazquez is keen to head to Goodison Park. And the reason for his stance is the chance to be reunited with Ancelotti and James.

It must be noted that Vazquez only made his way into the Real Madrid first-team after Ancelotti’s departure, but the Italian would have been aware of the wide-man while he was playing for Castilla and out on loan with Espanyol.

It would be a huge coup for Everton to win the race for Vazquez. The Spain international – who earns £50,000-a-week, according to Cuatro – is capable of covering in a number of positions.

Seamus Coleman is gradually edging towards the end of his career. Mason Holgate meanwhile, has produced some outstanding performances on the right. However, he has also come in for criticism at times.

So landing Vazquez on a free would arguably have the potential to be a superb piece of business if he is indeed keen on heading to Merseyside.
