Everton have reportedly made contact with the agent of Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus over potentially taking over from Marco Silva at Goodison Park.
Silva’s position at Everton is beginning to look untenable after a run of poor results has seen the Toffees slide into relegation contention.
However, the axe has failed to fall on the Portuguese boss due to a lack of viable alternatives.
Diario de Noticias is now reporting that Jesus is that potential alternative. Everton have reportedly contacted his agent, Pini Zahavi, regarding Jesus potentially getting the job at Everton.
The issue is that Jesus, who recently led Flamengo to the Copa Libertadores title, wants to remain in charge of the Brazilian club until after the Club World Cup next month.

It means Everton will have to wait to make the appointment if indeed the story proves true.
Jesus is said to be open to a return to Europe if the project is right. He has previously won the Portuguese league title on three occasions and guided Benfica to the Europa League final twice.
TBR’s View
It is certainly a different name to be linked with the Everton job compared to the recent David Moyes and Mark Hughes rumours. However, it will hardly have Everton fans jumping for joy, despite his success in Portugal and Brazil.
At 65-years-old, it is also not the forward-thinking long-term option that Everton could make by seriously pursuing the likes of Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche.
So it remains to be seen if Everton fans do find themselves happy with the potential pursuit of Jesus.
