Celtic are reportedly set to move away from interest in Sebastian Andersson, according to reports.
The Swedish striker has been linked with a move to Celtic for a number of months now and it seems that the Bhoys are now set to turn that interest into a firm transfer bid. Kicker reported that Celtic were readying a £5.5 million bid for the Union Berlin striker, who scored 12 Bundesliga goals in 33 games last season.
However, a report from The Scottish Sun has suggested that Celtic will not be making a move for the 29-year-old.
They suggest he is not on the radar, despite the reports from Germany.
Celtic are seemingly on the hunt for another striker with doubts over Leigh Griffiths’ readiness for next season.
Whilst it seems that Odsonne Edouard is set to remain at Parkhead it would appear Neil Lennon wants another striking recruit.
Celtic are also being linked with the likes of Albian Ajeti, Steven Fletcher, and Ivan Toney, all of whom appear to be more likely options now for Celtic with Andersson seemingly off the table.
Perhaps, at 29-years-old, Celtic see no resale value in a potential £5.5 million move for the Swede amid the current global financial situation.
On that logic, Celtic might be making the best decision.
