The transfer window might be shut but you can guarantee that Leeds United director of football Victor Orta will already be thinking about January and beyond.
The Whites had a fairly impressive transfer window, ending with the arrival of Raphinha from Rennes on deadline day.
But Leeds also failed in other pursuits, including for Rodrigo De Paul, Daniel James, and Michael Cuisance.
Another player Leeds were heavily interested in was Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol. Whilst Leeds eventually brought in Diego Llorente, as well as Robin Koch at centre-back, it appears Leeds were looking to bring in a young centre-back.

Now, according to a report in Germany, Leeds do have their eyes on another young defender.
It has been claimed that Leeds are keeping tabs on Hamburg stopper Stephan Ambrosius. As reported by Hanuaer Anzeiger, the 2.Bundesliga side are desperately trying to get Ambrosius to sign a new deal, keeping him at the club until 2024. His current contract expires next summer, making him vulnerable to interest from Leeds who could agree a pre-contract arrangement with the 21-year-old as early as 2024.
Ambrosius, who can play for either Germany or Ghana but is currently a member of the Germany under-21 set-up, has started the new season as a starter in the Hamburg first-team, after breaking into the squad last season.
Leeds are right to be tracking the player, who is clearly talented and could be a future star.
Considering his contract situation, Leeds could also get the player in on the cheap. Orta might be lining up another excellent piece of youthful recruiting.
