French outlet Le10Sport have claimed that St. Etienne are stalling on a £10.7million offer from Stade Rennais for impressive winger Denis Bouanga – as they wait for Everton to make their move.
Everton have been recently linked with a move for 25-year-old Bouanga, who has enjoyed an excellent season for Les Verts. His 12 goals and five assists in 35 outings helped St. Etienne survive relegation by the skin of their teeth.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Gabon teammate only joined St. Etienne from Nimes in 2019, but he is already being linked with an exit. Rennes have tabled an offer of £10.7million, which is some way below St. Etienne’s valuation.
Indeed, St. Etienne are delaying on whether to accept Rennes’ offer as they wait for Everton to table a bid of their own. The chances are that if it is closer to St. Etienne’s £13.3million valuation, then it will be accepted.

TBR’s view – Do Everton need another winger?
Everton have plenty of options out wide. Theo Walcott is coming to the twilight of his career but remains a crucial option, while Richarlison and Bernard are key. Alex Iwobi will be looking to improve on a tough first season.
Bouanga is a top player and is seemingly available on the cheap despite reaching double figures despite being in a side that have struggled all season. At just £13.3million, he has the potential to be an excellent signing.
But do Everton need him? Perhaps, if Walcott departs – given he is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract – Bouanga would be a like-for-like replacement.
