Spurs and new transfer supremo, Fabio Paratici, are not quite done when it comes to signing defenders, despite the incoming signing of Cristian Romero.
Tottenham are set to complete a move for Romero in the next hours after the defender jetted into London and completed a medical. The deal is set to be announced as soon as today.

However, Football.London have reported that while Romero is a key capture for Spurs, they remain keen on further defensive recruits.
Character
It is believed that Romero may well need a ‘strong character’ alongside him, with question marks still hanging over the likes of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.
Indeed, Football.London claim that Sanchez could be the one sold to free up funds for another defender.
Spurs have been linked with Takehiro Tomiyasu of Bologna, while Nikola Milenkovic is also another name in the mix.
There remains uncertainty within the club, though. Harry Kane’s future is still on a knife-edge. And with the season just over a week away, Paratici will be eager to bring more new faces in.
Spurs need more
Signing Romero is a big move – and an expensive one too – but it was much-needed really for Spurs. But, they also need more.
As FL mention, Eric Dier has been far from spectacular. Sanchez, also, another in that boat.
Romero will indeed be fine, but adding another is ideal. Spurs are trying to transition here a bit. With that, they can’t simply be content with the odd big signing. Especially, if they want the top four.
Tottenham, then, need to act quickly and get another deal over the line.
