Tottenham Hotspur had included Vitesse Arnhem defender Max Clark on their wishlist as they looked to strengthen at full-back this month, but the Daily Mail suggests that Jose Mourinho is now weighing up a change of transfer plans.
It is no surprise to see Spurs plot a move for a new right-back. Serge Aurier has been inconsistent during his time as first-choice, and his off-days can be spectacular. Meanwhile, it appears that Kyle Walker-Peters is not doing enough to convince Mourinho to give him a chance.

On the other flank there also appears to some uncertainty. Ryan Sessegnon is finding his feet after his summer move and is capable of playing further forward. Jan Vertonghen has also filled in since Ben Davies’ injury as question marks seemingly linger over Danny Rose’s future at the club.
The Daily Mail reports that Clark had joined Max Aarons on the club’s shopping list. But injuries to the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Harry Kane could tempt Mourinho to look to strengthen elsewhere.

It is suggested by the Mail that signing a full-back had been the priority, and any other significant spending was likely to be saved for the summer. But that may no longer be the case.
TBR View – Spurs shouldn’t put Clark move on ice
Clark looks to be in with a fantastic chance of moving to the Premier League in the near future. The Daily Mirror reported in December that Liverpool want the 23-year-old, who is also being tracked by England boss Gareth Southgate.
He has provided three assists in the Eredivisie this season, and the Mirror reported that his crossing statistics were off the charts.
That should put Spurs off the idea of putting a move for the youngster on ice this month. Should they sit back, another club may well come in for the former Hull City man.
