Spurs are also interested in signing Arsenal target Christopher Nkunku, according to a report from French outlet Foot Mercato.
Nkunku’s future has become a talking point in recent days. Sky Germany reported last week that the Gunners could reignite their interest in the RB Leipzig youngster.
It was claimed that Arsenal had followed the 23-year-old since before his move to the Bundesliga side.
And it indeed appears that Mikel Arteta’s men are keen on Nkunku. According to Foot Mercato, they are still monitoring the former France under-21 international.
However, they are not the only team watching the attacker. The report claims that Tottenham Hotspur are also admirers of Nkunku, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has received favourable reports on him.
Foot Mercato notes that Leipzig are willing to consider selling Nkunku for the right pace. Bild suggested earlier this season that that price was £35 million.
Nkunku has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in all competitions this season. Most of his appearances have come in attacking midfield. But he has also played on both wings and up front.
Remarkably, he managed to provide 15 assists in the top flight last term. So he is clearly a player who can make a major impact.
And with neither Spurs or Arsenal looking particularly convincing this season, there is potentially an opportunity for a player such as Nkunku to make a real difference if he did join either.
