Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Edin Dzeko, with the striker’s contract at Inter Milan up at the end of the season, according to a report from Calciomercatoweb.
Dzeko is well into the twilight of his career. The 36-year-old has been a remarkable goalscorer for a number of clubs. And he is continuing to make an impact for Inter, scoring six times in Serie A this season.

Calciomercatoweb reports that he is out of contract at the end of the season. Dzeko wishes to stay at San Siro. But he may be offered the chance to return to the Premier League.
Tottenham interested in Edin Dzeko
Calciomercatoweb reports that Antonio Conte wants Dzeko as competition for Harry Kane. And it is thought that the two parties would have already been in contact about a future return to the Premier League.

Pursuing a deal for Dzeko would probably divide much of the Tottenham fanbase. Obviously, it is not a long-term move. He will be 37 by the end of the current campaign.
And he would probably command quite a fee for a player who could move on a free transfer.
However, Spurs have suffered from not having more depth up front this season. Harry Kane had to start the Carabao Cup tie at Nottingham Forest in midweek.
In fairness, injury has hurt Tottenham this term. Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min have all been sidelined at various stages.
But it is also fair to say that none of those three are out-and-out strikers. So if Dane Scarlett is not ready next season, Spurs surely need to bring someone else in.
Dzeko is still scoring goals at the highest level. He has nine in all competitions this term, including three in the Champions League.
Signing cover for Kane has never been easy for Tottenham. They need someone who is good enough to provide cover for Kane, while also being content with being a backup.
Dzeko has been an ‘extraordinary‘ goalscorer for several years. So if Tottenham are really interested, there may be plenty of fans who do not mind seeing him come in one bit.
