Report: Spurs target out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder as first summer signing
Tottenham Hotspur are showing an interest in bringing out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah to White Hart Lane next term, as per the Evening Standard.
The 22-year-old, who played 16 Serie A games during his second-half-of-the-season spell at Fiorentina last term, is seen by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as a player capable of propelling the club into the Premier League top-four.

Since signing from Swiss outfit Basle for £11m, Salah has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea, hence his time spent in Serie A. After failing to prove his use to Jose Mourinho, he saw himself included in a transfer package for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado, which saw him sent out on loan.

Nonetheless, he has set about improving his reputation, and has since attracted the attention of other English sides. However, Tottenham, who have been on the receiving end of the Egyptian international’s talent on various occasions, could be the club that wins the race for his signature.
