Tottenham Hotspur may have received a potential boost amid their interest in Mike Maignan, with Tuttomercatoweb suggesting that his asking price could be a lot lower than previously reported.
Maignan is attracting attention from Spurs and AC Milan ahead of the summer. Hugo Lloris, of course, is edging towards the end of his career and has arguably not been at his best on a consistent basis for some time.

France Football reported last month that Lille want £21.3 million (€25 million) for the 25-year-old. But another report has now suggested that the Ligue 1 leaders may want a fair amount less.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the asking price may be just £14.7-£15.6 million (€17-€18 million). Obviously, that could mean that the fee required could be cut by almost a third.

Signing Maignan for around £21.3 million already seemed to have the potential to be a bargain. So all of his admirers will surely jump at the chance to possibly pay less than £15 million.
Spurs need to replace Lloris sooner or later. The captain turns 35 before the turn of the year. And his game-changing displays are starting to become less frequent.
Maignan is a goalkeeper who could end the year with a league title under his belt. Lille are three points clear in Ligue 1 with six games remaining.
Of course, Tottenham can expect a lot of competition for his signature. But his asking price sets up an opportunity that is arguably too good for Spurs to pass up.
