According to a report from Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the clubs to have spoken to Andre Onana’s agent as they look to sign the Ajax goalkeeper next summer.

The Sun reported at the weekend that Spurs had made Onana their top goalkeeper target amid concerns over Hugo Lloris’s long-term future.

The Frenchman has been an outstanding servant for Tottenham. But his form has come in for a little more criticism over the last year. And it appears that his current injury has prompted Mauricio Pochettino’s men to prepare for life after Lloris.

The Sun’s report suggested that Tottenham plan to make a move for Onana once Lloris moves on. But it seems that Spurs may have actually got the ball rolling already.

It makes sense to lay the groundwork for a potential future move for Onana. As the report notes, the interest in him is already increasing and it is surely not going to be easy to get a deal done.

It will be intriguing to see where Onana wants to go. Moving to Spurs could be an exciting opportunity. The Sun’s report suggested that Lloris could leave next summer. So Onana could become Pochettino’s first-choice almost immediately.
