Spurs are reportedly set to earn a £5million windfall thanks to a Daniel Levy masterstroke two years ago.
Tottenham had a talented player on their books called Marcus Edwards, who came through the Spurs ranks.
Mauricio Pochettino compared Edwards to Lionel Messi due to his low centre of gravity and ability to beat a man.

However, he only made one first-team appearance for Tottenham.
Following spells on loan at Norwich and Excelsior, Edwards left for Portuguese club Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2019.
Tottenham inserted a sell-on clause in the deal which entitled them to 50 percent of Edwards’ next transfer fee, according to football.london.
And the 22-year-old is now reportedly closing in on a £10million move to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.

Although Edwards’ time at Spurs wasn’t the most fruitful, he’s clearly a very talented prospect.
Levy predicted that the winger would shine at Vitoria and that bigger clubs would come calling.
In turn, this would mean a decent-sized transfer fee, and now Spurs look set for a nice money boost.
£5million works out at about £96,000 per week for a year, so this windfall could cover a good player’s wages for a season.
