Report: Spurs seriously keen on £8.5m star deemed 'the greatest menace' in the Europa League this season

Tottenham Hotspur have eyes on up to six signings this summer, according to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney.

Filip Kostic is believed to be among the ‘more seriously considered options’ for Spurs.

He’s alongside the likes of Gleison Bremer, Wilfried Sinigo and Christian Eriksen.

Delaney’s newsletter claimed that Tottenham fear Antonio Conte could depart ahead of next season.

‘The general feeling among his staff is that they are better than this’, wrote Delaney.

As a result, Spurs are reportedly trying to get ahead of the game in terms of transfer business.

Kostic, a 29-year-old winger who can also play in midfield and in attack, would be a good shout for Tottenham.

The Eintracht Frankfurt ace has been in impressive form this season, registering seven goals and 13 assists.

Kostic also played a huge role in beating Barcelona in the Europa League.

He grabbed two goals and assist at Camp Nou in their quarter-final second-leg for a 3-2 win.

“One of the best in the division”

The Bundesliga website recently wrote an article called “5 reasons Eintracht Frankfurt will beat West Ham in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals”.

Kostic features at number one, the league’s media team deeming him “the greatest menace in this edition of the Europa League”.

“His 114 crosses is another tournament-leading figure,” they continued. “With the next on that particular list having made only 86 deliveries from a wide area, and the third having made not even half (55) of Kostic’s crosses.

“Such statistics are not particularly surprising for followers of the Bundesliga, with the Serbian’s left boot rightly rated as one of the best in the division.

“The 29-year-old has set up eight goals in the Bundesliga this season, but nobody can even hold a candle to his league-leading 167 crosses from open play.”

The 43-cap dynamo is also only under contract at Deutsche Bank Park until June 2023.

Tuttosport have reported that Frankfurt would sell Kostic for just €10m (£8.5m) in January.
