Tottenham Hotspur were offered both Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler in talks that look set to end with Dele Alli moving to Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from Le Parisien.
Dele looks to be edging closer to a move to Parc des Princes. Le Parisien has reported that PSG have agreed a loan with Spurs that does not include an option to buy.
The report notes that the two clubs first started talking during the previous window. However, the Ligue 1 side could not meet Spurs’ asking price for the 24-year-old.
But it appears that Dele could finally move in the final days of the window. Interestingly, the report has noted that both Gueye and Draxler had been offered to Tottenham at one stage during talks.
It is not clear what prevented a swap taking place. It may have simply been that Spurs were not prepared to sanction any deal that led to Dele’s permanent exit.
The chance to sign Draxler may not appeal to many Tottenham fans. The Germany international has struggled for form and consistency in recent years.
Gueye on the other hand, could have arguably been a very good addition.
It is not that long ago that he was leaving Everton for £30 million after a brilliant spell at Goodison Park (fee reported by BBC Sport).
Of course, much would have depended on the terms being discussed. But Gueye could have potentially been a shrewd signing to provide more quality in the middle of the park.
