Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke is amongst those to have been offered to Tottenham Hotspur as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking ranks, according to a report from the Guardian.
As noted by the Guardian, Mourinho has recently spoken of his desire to add a new goalscorer to his squad in the final weeks of the window.
The club have been linked with a host of players this summer. And the Guardian has suggested that one of those to have been suggested to Tottenham is Benteke.
It remains to be seen if Spurs show any interest in signing the Belgian. But it seems more than likely that most Tottenham fans will be hoping that nothing comes of the links.
TBR View: Deja vu for Tottenham after January links
It is not the first window in which Benteke has been linked with Spurs. The Telegraph claimed back in January that the Palace man had been offered to Mourinho.
Tottenham were reportedly in a weak negotiating position at that stage with Harry Kane sidelined for three months.
And unfortunately, it seems slightly alarming that Spurs are once again being linked with a move for Benteke.
The 29-year-old – who earns £120,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has scored six Premier League goals across the last three seasons.
Tottenham appear to have snubbed the chance to sign Benteke in January, and they may offer a similar response this time around.
Nevertheless, you could understand if being offered the same out-of-form striker two windows in a row only increased the frustration Spurs fans were currently feeling.
