Report: Spurs-linked centre-back who's a 'perfect fit for Liverpool' wants Premier League football next season
Fabrizio Romano has provided an exciting update on reported Tottenham Hotspur target Joachim Andersen, who has been described as a “perfect fit for Liverpool”.
Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Spurs have set their sights on the 24-year-old centre-back, who reportedly has a £20million price tag.
Although he hasn’t been linked with Liverpool, pundit Robbie Earle described him in March as a player tailor-made for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.
“My underappreciated player of the week goes to Joachim Andersen, the big centre-half on loan from Lyon,” the Wimbledon legend told the 2 Robbies podcast.
“He’s 24 years of age – he’s a man back there. He can win it, he can play, looks like he’s got a little bit about him to organise those in and around him.
“Right now, he would be a perfect fit for Liverpool Football Club, by the way. Good size, can play, looks commanding, looks like he can organise.”
Andersen, who is on loan at Fulham from Lyon, has been sensational this season, so much so that he’s been handed the captain’s armband on multiple occasions.
However, with the Cottagers set to play Championship football next season, Andersen’s future is now uncertain.
According to Romano, the Denmark international’s top priority is to secure Premier League football next season, and Spurs remain interested in his signature.
However, “several European clubs” have also reportedly expressed an interested in signing Andersen permanently.

Andersen has done so well at Fulham that club legend Tony Gale described him as “absolutely sensational”.
Sadly for the Cottagers, their chances of signing him permanently are now extremely low in wake of their relegation from the Premier League.
Spurs could certainly do with Andersen to shore up a defence that has leaked goals this season, and although Liverpool have quite a few centre-backs in their ranks, they might as well check him out.
