Report: Spurs leading the race for 4-goal, £30 million-rated winger

According to the Star on Sunday, Tottenham are leading the race for the signature of Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie. The 26-year-old is seen as the perfect addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, and as such, he is very interested in securing his services.

Bolasie emerged as a star performer in Alan Pardew’s Palace side as the former Newcastle manager led an impressive renaissance at Selhurst Park. Despite having his season interrupted by the African Cup of Nations in the New year, the Congolese international made 34 appearances, scoring four goals.

Earlier in May, Pardew was quick to slap a – perhaps slightly overestimated – £30 million price tag on Bolasie, but this has not deterred Tottenham. Reports suggest that Pochettino is looking to reinforce his options out-wide, with the Palace winger seen as the perfect man to boost the club’s top four challenge.

However, the Lilywhites could face competition for Bolasie’s signature, with West Ham, Newcastle and Sunderland also in pursuit. Realistically, Liverpool are likely to be the only team capable of matching Tottenham’s attempts to land the talented former Bristol City winger.
