Kyle Walker-Peters is hoping that he will have his next move finalised by Friday, with three Premier League sides keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur full-back, according to the Sunday People (19/1; page 49).
Walker-Peters has been linked with a move away throughout the January transfer window. He has made just three Premier League appearances for Spurs this season.
The Sunday People (19/1; page 49) reports that Crystal Palace, Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion all want the 22-year-old.
And the report suggests that a decision on his future could be imminent. The Sunday People suggests that he wants his next move finalised by Friday.
Perhaps that may be to open the door for the full-back – who earns £20,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – to play as early as next weekend.
TBR View – Walker-Peters needs loan move
For a long time, it seemed inevitable that Walker-Peters would break into Spurs’ team on a regular basis and go on to establish himself as the club’s first-choice right-back.
However, it is arguably telling that neither Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho has trusted him with that role.
It is currently difficult to see the youngster becoming a first-team regular at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So perhaps a loan move may be one of his last throws of the dice.
He can prove that he can cut it at Premier League level ahead of his return to Spurs in the summer.
And if it is not enough to improve his prospects at Tottenham, it should ensure that he has put himself in the shop window for a permanent move away.
