Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to sign LA Galaxy right-back Julian Araujo, with the Sunday People (10/1; page 54) reporting that Juventus also want the 19-year-old.
Spurs have plenty of depth at right-back this season. Serge Aurier has enjoyed a career resurgence this term, while Matt Doherty has shown glimpses of his quality since his arrival.

But it appears that Jose Mourinho also has one eye on the future. The Sunday People (10/1; page 54) reports that Spurs are stepping up talks to sign Araujo, who is valued at £5 million.
It is noted that they may have to wait until the summer for a decision on his future. The People also claims that he has admirers in Turin.

TBR View: Spurs will hope history does not repeat itself
It is, of course, not the first time Tottenham have targeted a right-back plying his trade in Major League Soccer.
The club signed DeAndre Yedlin from Seattle Sounders in 2014 shortly after his exciting displays at that year’s World Cup. Unfortunately, his time in North London did not play out how anyone would have hoped.
He made just one appearance for the club before joining Newcastle United. So Spurs will be hoping that Araujo will enjoy a lot more success should he join.
In fairness, the USA international is showing promise in a number of roles. He predominantly played in defence this past season. But he had also made a number of appearances further down the right flank.
