Report: Spurs in advanced talks with 'phenomenal' attacker, could star at Euro 2020
Tottenham are looking to rebuild following a dismal season which extended their trophy drought.
Spurs only qualified for Europe by virtue of the creation of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
In addition, the north Londoners are looking for a new manager in wake of Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
However, RMC Sport claims Spurs are the subject of a pretty exciting development.
Tottenham have reportedly “accelerated negotiations” for the Borussia Monchengladbach and France winger.
The Premier League club has apparently made Thuram’s signing a “priority” and discussions have been advancing well.
Who is Marcus Thuram?
The 23-year-old is the son of France legend and 1998 World Cup winner Lilian Thuram.
He has carved out an impressive career of his own and looks set for a bright future.
Thuram started his career at Sochaux and earned himself a move to Gladbach in 2019.
He has made 79 appearances for the German club, with 25 goals and 21 assists under his belt.
Thuram’s efforts have helped him make the France squad for Euro 2020.
Dennis Zakaria praised Thuram in 2019 after he scored a late winner against Roma in the Europa League 18 months ago.
“It was so important that Marcus scored that goal today,” said Zakaria, via Bulinews.
“He is a great guy, a little crazy maybe, but what he brings to the pitch is phenomenal.”
Marcus Thuram would be a coup for Spurs – TBR View
Thuram is a young player of the highest calibre who looks set for a great future.
If Spurs are really closing in on him, what a coup that would be.
Thuram could well shine for France at Euro 2020 and then he’d have so many clubs after him.
Could this be Fabio Paratici already at work for Tottenham?
