Report: Spurs hold interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia; Leeds wanted him back in May
Spurs are still hoping to add a winger to their squad before the end of the summer and have put Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on that list of players.
Along with the likes of Noni Madueke and Adama Traore, Sky Sports claim that Kvaratskhelia is also on that list, having impressed for Rubin Kazan over the last 12 months.
20-year-old Kvaratskhelia is highly-rated in Europe and has already appeared eight times for Georgia, scoring three times as well. For Kazan, he’s approaching 60 appearances already and has managed an impressive enough eight goals and 13 assists. (Per Transfermarkt)
Capable of playing anywhere in a front three, Spurs are thought to be keen on Kvaratskhelia if they can’t land some of their other targets. Sky claims that their interest is at an early stage.
New Spurs supremo Fabio Paratici has made a big impression at Spurs already thanks to his signings. But he now needs to move some players on, before he lands Kvaratskhelia or anyone else.
TBR’s View: Kvaratskhelia one for the future really
It’s all well and good Spurs adding players who can produce further down the line, but they really need to try and get the top four this season. Especially after spending over £80m this summer already.
Kvaratskhelia is obviously a top talent. Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa wanted him in May, but were told £26m was the price. If that’s still the case, then he could prove too expensive for now.
It’s a big few weeks for Spurs. Who goes, and who comes in, could define their season. Paratici, then, will be hard at work you’d imagine.
