Tottenham Hotspur forward Gareth Bale is set to miss out Wales’ first fixture of the international break, according to a report in The Sun.
The 31-year-old made his first Premier League start since his return to Spurs on Sunday, being named in Jose Mourinho’s XI away at West Brom.

Bale featured for 78 minutes before being replaced by Lucas Moura, after which he was seen receiving treatment on his right ankle, which appeared to be covered in an ice pack
According to The Sun, Wales caretaker boss Robert Page will take no chances on the Tottenham ace in Thursday’s friendly with the United States in Swansea.
The Dragons are in UEFA Nations League action later on during the international break, taking on the Republic of Ireland on Sunday and Finland on Wednesday.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho recently called on Wales not to “destroy” the work done by the North Londoners to improve Bale’s fitness.

As reports go, this is one that Spurs fans will welcome, with Bale having taken a while to get back to full speed having missed pre-season and overcome a knee injury.
It makes perfect sense for Bale to sit out the USA game, enabling him to recover fully from the knock on Sunday as well as giving the Welsh coaches the chance to try out some new players.
