Spurs are reportedly keen on signing Lille winger, Jonathan Bamba, as the club drafts up a list of potential replacements for Gareth Bale.

Bale is said to be on his way back to Madrid in the summer, with the Welshman saying this week he sees his future back in Spain if he can manage to find a way to return.

Spurs, then, are said to be compiling a list of potential replacements and Bamba, 24, is on that list, according to Sky Sports.

Bamba is one of a number of targets for the club. Nicolas Gonzalez is said to be on the list as well, with Jose Mourinho clearly exploring avenues which would see wide forwards or number tens arrive at the club.

The French under-21 international is highly-regarded by Lille. He has scored six times this term, laying on a further nine assists in total.

Bamba already has over 150 appearances in Ligue 1 to his name. But with Spurs interested, he could be open to a new challenge away from the French league, following in the footsteps of former teammate, Nicolas Pepe, in moving to North London.

TBR View: Bamba an exciting if not a bit raw talent

There’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to Bamba. He’s not the finished article yet but in terms of potential, he has a lot to offer if Spurs do make a move.

Blessed with good speed and with the ability to drift by players with ease, Bamba has played a key role as Lille look to push for success over in France.

However, his form has attracted glances, which is why Spurs are in the mix. That, coupled with Lille’s openness to selling on its prized assets in recent windows, suggests that Bamba could be within reach for Daniel Levy and co.
