Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be one of the sides interested in Dutch prodigy Mohamed Sankoh, according to Kicker.

However, Jose Mourinho’s Spurs are said to have competition from some top sides in England and Europe, with Germany’s Stuttgart reportedly confident in their hopes of signing the 16-year-old.

Sankoh joined Championship side Stoke City from Sparta Rotterdam in 2018, and has impressed in the Under-18 Premier League with three goals and three assists.

The forward has also scored one goal from three appearances for the Netherlands Under-17s, with whom he won the European Under-17 title last year.

Given his “great potential”, Sankoh is now thought to be on the radar of big clubs.

Kicker claims that Tottenham are up against London rivals Chelsea for Sankoh’s services, while Juventus and Barcelona are also keeping tabs on the teenager.

However, newly promoted Stuttgart reportedly feel they have a good chance of beating the above sides to the youngster’s signature.

The outlet claims Sankoh has already met with chiefs at the Bundesliga side and he has made a “strong impression”.

With Tottenham boasting a top academy with great talent in their ranks, Sankoh sounds like he’d be a great addition to a setup which already counts Troy Parrott and Kion Etete, not to mention giving the world Harry Kane.

However, competition for his signature seems fierce and, considering Stuttgart have reportedly spoken to him already, Spurs would need to step up their pursuit if they want to try and bring him down to London from Staffordshire.
