Report: Spurs weigh up move for 'exceptional' Euro 2020 star
Spurs are weighing up whether to move for Sassuolo and Italy midfielder, Manuel Locatelli, as Fabio Paratici gets to work in North London.
Locatelli has been hugely impressive in the Euro 2020 tournament thus far, helping the Italians to the quarter-finals.
He has been widely tipped to join Juventus. But Arsenal are also in the mix as well as they look for midfield reinforcements.
However, the Daily Star has now claimed that Spurs and Paratici are weighing up whether to swoop in ahead of the Gunners. It’s suggested that Paratici is a big fan of Locatelli, and he could use his contacts in Italy to try and broker a deal.
Locatelli has been a man in-demand for much of the summer. Indeed, Manchester City had previously expressed an interest in him as well.
Making a splash
Tottenham need some players this summer and now Nuno Santo is in place, it seems Paratici is wanting to get down to business.
Landing someone like Locatelli would immediately give the Italian credibility with the Spurs faithful. This is a midfielder play of the highest quality who is in-demand. Further, beating Arsenal to him would only give him further credit.
Locatelli has already scored a memorable Euro 2020 double this summer after his two goals helped fire Italy past Switzerland.
He’s also open to a move this summer. He told Talksport last month that a move abroad was an option. Spurs, then, will be hoping to convince him.
